Our Perspective:
This Patek Philippe pocket watch from the late 1930s to early 1940s has all the charm you could want. The silver dial pairs beautifully with the 18k yellow gold case, highlighted by Breguet-style hands, warmly patinated numerals, and a small seconds subdial that brings the whole design together.
Open the hinged caseback and you’ll find a personal engraving “T.B.M. from E.B.M. Oct. 18, 1939”- making it clear this was a gift, adding to its story from decades ago. Inside sits a beautifully finished Patek Philippe manual-winding movement with a swan neck regulator, a detail that’s both technically impressive and easy to admire. The interior of the case back features the Poinçon de Maître key # 5, indicating it was made by the famed Georges Croisier. It’s the kind of pocket watch that blends history, craftsmanship, and personality all in one.
Condition Report:
Very Good vintage condition. Watch shows moderate signs of use including scratches and small dings. Dial has light spotting at 12 o'clock and patina on gold roman numeral indices. Crystal is in great condition with some faint scratches. Personal engraving on inner and outer caseback. Watch winds, sets and runs well. Crisp hallmarks and engravings. Watch weighs 55g total.
Condition Grade: 8.5/10
