18K Patek Philippe 4931/2J Golden Ellipse Mother of Pearl Diamond Watch

Our Perspective:

The Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse has long been one of the manufacture’s most elegant designs, but this very rare reference 4931/2J from the early 2000s takes it a step further into fine jewelry. Crafted entirely from 18K yellow gold, this example features a stunning mother-of-pearl dial with diamond indices, surrounded by a substantial diamond-set bezel totaling approximately 1.40 carats. Equally impressive is the beautiful braided gold bracelet with removable links, an unusual and particularly desirable configuration that gives the watch a seamless, jewelry-like appearance on the wrist. Inside beats the manually wound, Geneva-sealed Caliber 16-250, a testament to Patek Philippe’s attention to even its smallest timepieces. Measuring just 23mm x 25mm and 6mm thick, this exceptionally elegant Golden Ellipse is made all the more special by the inclusion of its original box and papers.

Condition Report:

Case: Watch appears to be unpolished and is in very strong condition with medium signs of wear, scratches and small dings.

Strap/Bracelet: Original 18K yellow gold Patek Philippe bracelet has medium scratches and small dings throughout. Original yellow gold double deployant clasp is signed Patek Philippe and 750. Fits a maximum wrist size of 6.5".

Dial/Crystal/Hands: Dial is in incredibly well-preserved condition with no chips, cracks or signs of age. Sapphire crystal has a few faint scratches throughout. Light oxidation on hands.

Movement: Manual Winding Patek Philippe Cal. 16-250 is clean and runs well with a 5-position average of -0.2 S/D | 242° AMP | 0.3 MS BE.

Included: Inner & outer Patek Philippe box (peeling due to age), certificate of origin (undated), movements book, register envelope, museum booklet and leather folio
