18K Piaget Protocole 26354 M601D Tapestry Dial Watch

Our Perspective:

Vintage Piaget has experienced a huge resurgence in recent years, with collectors increasingly drawn to the brand's solid gold cases, unusual dials, and jewelry-inspired designs. Stone dial examples have received much of the attention, but this Protocole offers something arguably just as interesting: a tapestry-style dial that blends seamlessly into the bezel and bracelet, creating a continuous textured pattern across the entire watch. It's a less conventional approach to dial design and one that sets this example apart from more traditional Protocole models.

Crafted entirely from 18K white gold and weighing 119.46 grams, this circa 2000s Piaget has substantial weight for a dress watch. Measuring 26mm x 30mm and just 7mm thick, the case maintains elegant proportions despite its considerable weight. The factory white gold bracelet integrates directly into the case and is secured by a butterfly clasp, giving the watch the appearance of a continuous piece of jewelry. Inside is the automatic Caliber 520P, a less common configuration considering that many Protocole models feature quartz or manually wound movements. Complete with its original crown and a practical date window, this example brings together several desirable features in one watch. Between the textured dial, full white gold construction, and automatic movement, it represents an interesting side of vintage Piaget that collectors are only beginning to appreciate.

Condition Report:

Case: Watch is in unpolished, sparingly worn condition. Light scratches and dings from handling/wear throughout. Caseback has factory sticker present.

Bracelet: Integrated 18K white gold bracelet is in lightly-worn, unpolished condition with light scratches throughout. Fully linked bracelet fits a maximum wrist size of 7.5 inches. The double-deployant Piaget clasp shows light scratches.

Dial/Crystal/Hands: Original Piaget silver tapestry dial and hands are in near-mint condition with no visible signs of age/wear.

Movement: Automatic Piaget caliber 520P winds, sets and runs- however, a service is required for accurate timekeeping.
