18K Rolex Day-Date 18038 Watch

This 1986 Rolex Day-Date Ref. 18038 shows exactly why the Day-Date has stayed essentially the same for decades. The proportions are exactly what you want, a classic 36mm 18K yellow gold case that sits comfortably on almost any wrist. The fluted bezel adds the familiar character that defines the model, while the champagne dial keeps things traditional and warm, catching light in a way that feels distinctly vintage. This example is fitted on its correct 18K yellow gold President bracelet with a matching concealed Crown clasp. Inside is the automatic Caliber 3055 with single quickset date and a sapphire crystal up front. Condition Report:

Case: Watch has been previously polished but retains thick lugs, nice bezel flutes and sharp hallmarks. Medium to heavy scratches and nicks throughout. Light patina/oxidation on case and bracelet. Can be polished upon request.

Bracelet: 18K Rolex President Bracelet has 20 links and fits a maximum wrist size of 7". Shows light stretch. 

Dial: Original tritium Rolex dial and hands. Light cracking on hour hand lume. Light to medium spotting throughout dial. Light scratches on crystal. Mainly visible under magnification.

Movement: Cal. 3055 Movement is running perfectly to Rolex chronometer specs with a 5-position average of -0.4 S/D | 273° AMP | 0.1MS BE. Discoloration on rotor.
