Our Perspective:

If you paid any attention to watches recently, you have probably heard of the Cartier Baignoire (maybe even too much). What was once more of an unnoticed Cartier collection, turned into one of the most desirable and talked about watches of the 2020s- in large part due to celebrities and influencers like Tyler, the Creator and Kendall Jenner sporting the watch. As you can guess, this pushed the price of secondary market models quite high and even made acquiring certain current models at retail difficult.
What many may not know is that in the 1960s-1980s Cartier often looked to other manufacturer's for full watch production- one of those being Bueche Girod. In the case of this watch, Bueche Girod created the watch and movement, while Cartier added their name to the dial and clasp before retailing it. Although the only indication of this collaboration exists beneath the caseback, these models can be found for a better value than other Cartier-made references, while still retaining all the Cartier DNA and beauty.

Condition Report:

Very Good vintage condition. Unlike many vintage Cartier Baignoires, this watch has a virtually pristine dial with no obvious marks or flaws. It also comes with the rare, original Cartier 18K deployant clasp. Both the clasp and caseback have the expected hand-engraved Cartier inventory/stock numbers visible. Case shows minor signs of previous polishing and moderate scratches throughout. Strap is generic and may need to be replaced to fit larger wrist sizes. Watch is running without issues, but may require a service in the future if accurate timekeeping is needed.

Condition Grade: 8.5/10
