Cartier Santos Carrée Ladies Watch

Our Perspective:

The Cartier Santos Ref. 0902 is one of those watches that just feels right the moment you put it on. A true icon of the 90s, and one of the most iconic watch designs.

At 24mm x 35mm, the small model Carrée is the little sibling of the larger reference 2961. The mix of steel and 18K yellow gold gives it that classic late-90s Cartier look without feeling dated, while the white roman dial keeps it refined and easy to wear and match with everything. The bracelet catches light beautifully with the square links the carrée is known for. The less common butterfly clasp ties the bracelet together without the need of a visible clasp.

Powered by a Cartier automatic movement, it runs smoothly and carries the charm that made the Santos a favorite for decades. It’s a watch that works just as well dressed up as it does with a T-shirt, effortlessly versatile and increasingly hard to find. It’s no wonder these are becoming more and more popular with enthusiasts and collectors.

This particular example was purchased from the original owner who bought the watch at Macy's Herald Square NYC in 1984 and had it serviced by Cartier 10 years later in 1994. A copy of the original Macy's receipt, Macy's stamped 1984 warranty, service booklet and more add to the provenance of this time capsule piece.

Condition Report:

Case: Watch was previously polished by Cartier in 1994. There are medium scratches and dents throughout the case and bezel. 

Strap/Bracelet: Original 18K yellow gold and stainless steel Cartier screw bracelet is in good condition with zero stretch and medium scratches throughout. 19 Links total and fits a wrist size of 6.25" or smaller.

Dial/Crystal/Hands: Dial is in well-preserved condition with minimal signs of wear. Crystal has medium scratches throughout visible in certain angles. Light oxidation on hands.

Movement: Cartier automatic caliber 076 is in beautiful aesthetic condition and is running strong and within spec with a 5-position average of +8.4 S/D | 280° AMP | 0.1 MS BE. Watch was previously serviced by Cartier in 1994.

Watch comes as a complete set with it's original Must de Cartier box, guarantee certificate dated November 1984, service booklet dated 1994, service centers booklet, Santos instruction manual and a copy of original sales receipt from Macy's Herald Square NYC.
