Cartier Santos Ronde Octagon Watch

While most people think of the classic square shape when they picture Cartier’s famous Santos watch, the Santos Octagon became a more iykyk choice recently. The octagonal bezel gives the watch a sharper and more unconventional look, setting it apart from the widely recognized square version. This design was part of the maison’s creative expansion of the Santos line, and was potentially Cartier's response to the octagonal Royal Oak and Nautilus designs of the mid/late 1970s. 

At 30mm with a slim 6.5mm profile, the watch retains the elegance Cartier was known for in this era, while the steel and gold construction keeps it versatile. Powered by the quartz caliber 87 and fitted with a grained silver dial, it reflects the brand’s approach to practical yet refined luxury during the 1980s.

In recent years, interest in Cartier’s more unusual case shapes has grown steadily, and the Santos Ronde Octagon has been climbing in value as collectors look beyond the obvious icons. For those who appreciate Cartier’s design language but want something less common, this is exactly the kind of watch that makes sense to add to a collection.

Condition Report:

Very Good overall condition. Watch shows light signs of previous polishing. Moderate scratches and small indentations throughout case, bracelet and clasp. Dial shows light even cream patina throughout. Watch comes with original must de Cartier box. Watch recently got a fresh battery and runs/sets without issues.
