Our Perspective:

In our opinion, the Grand Seiko SBGR087 stands out for its exceptional level of finishing, showcasing the brand’s obsessive attention to detail in every surface and angle. The 37mm steel case is beautifully proportioned, while the sharply faceted lugs flow seamlessly around the wrist and catch the light from every direction thanks to flawless Zaratsu polishing.

The dial is equally impressive. A textured white "rice paper" dial adds a perfect level of depth and character to an otherwise simple watch. The dauphine hands and multi-faceted indices are razor sharp, perfectly finished, and polished to an almost mirror-like effect, creating incredible clarity and light reflection at every angle. Even the smallest details, from the framed date window to the crisp transitions between brushed and polished surfaces, feel meticulously executed.

Inside, the 9S65 movement continues that same standard, with finishing so good that it reflects rainbows seen through it's sapphire caseback. A smooth sweeping hand and a 72-hour power reserve makes the SBGR087 as technically impressive as it is visually refined.

Condition Report:

Case: In strong overall condition with sharp lugs and light scratches/small dings throughout.

Strap/Bracelet: Generic replacement green leather strap and stainless steel pin buckle. Comes with original Grand Seiko deployant clasp. Clasp and strap are in lightly worn condition and fits a maximum wrist size of 7.75"

Dial/Crystal/Hands: White rice paper textured dial and hands are in near perfect condition with no signs of wear. Sapphire crystal is in good condition with no scratches or chips.

Movement: Grand Seiko Automatic Caliber 9S65 is running well with a 5-position average of +3.9 S/D | 287° AMP | .1 MS BE.
