Our Perspective:

Finding any Rolex 4377 is a feat in itself, but finding one with extra sauce and in honest condition is a whole another thing. The extra sauce, of course, is the double-stamped dial with Bucherer, a once independent retailer, later acquired by Rolex in 2023. This stamp, on the rare California-esque dial may be the clear highlight of the watch, but the details like the original Rolex + Oyster crown, Brevette signed caseback and thick lugs should not be overlooked.
What makes this example even more compelling is its honest, worn-in character. The dial shows real age, with spotting and patina that give it a lived-in authenticity rather than a preserved, sterile feel. On the wrist it leans kind of military, almost field-watch in presence, understated yet purposeful. The thick lugs and brushed steel case reinforce that utilitarian aesthetic, making it feel less like a delicate vintage artifact and more like a watch that was actually used as intended. It’s raw, original, and full of personality, exactly how a mid-century Rolex tool watch should feel.

Condition Report:

Good vintage condition. Case has been polished in the past but retains thick lugs and deep engravings on caseback and crown. Medium scratches and nicks throughout the case and bezel. Watch has it's original stainless steel Brevette signed caseback and Rolex + Oyster crown.
Light scratches throughout acrylic crystal. Original double-stamped Bucherer's dial has never been restored or refinished and shows spotting/discoloration throughout. There is medium oxidation/discoloration on the hands.
Strap is a new replacement fabric NATO strap with a replacement steel buckle, which may show signs of handling.
Movement shows signs of oxidation and age but is in very nice condition considering it is over 80 years old. Watch sets and runs fine with a 5-position average of -4.5 S/D | 319° AMP | 0.9MS BE at the time of cataloging. Watch was observed over a 48 hour period and kept accurate time. However, due to the age of this watch and movement no guarantee is made on future timekeeping.
Condition Grade: 7.5/10
