Stainless Steel Hermès Arceau AR4.810 Brown Dial Watch

Our Perspective:

Introduced in 1978 and designed by Henri d'Origny, the Hermès Arceau was inspired by an unusual sight: a watch partially hidden beneath a leaf. Amused by the way part of the case disappeared from view, d'Origny abandoned the idea of perfect symmetry and created the Arceau's now-iconic asymmetrical stirrup-shaped lugs, a subtle nod to Hermès' equestrian heritage and one of the brand's most enduring watch designs.

This automatic Arceau measures 42mm in diameter and 10mm thick, giving it a substantial yet elegant presence on the wrist. The standout feature is the rich brown mirror-like dial, paired with the collection's signature italicized numerals that appear to sway across the dial as if caught in the wind. Completing the look is a brown/burgundy Hermès leather strap, a fitting reminder of the leather craftsmanship that made the house famous long before it entered watchmaking.

Condition Report:

Case: Very good condition with medium scratches and small dings throughout.

Strap/Bracelet: Original Hermès burgundy/brown crocodile strap has medium to heavy signs of wear throughout including discoloration and cracking. Hermes steel deployant clasp has medium scratches throughout. and fits a maximum wrist size of 7.75"

Dial/Crystal/Hands: Brown sunburst dial, hands and sapphire crystal are in excellent condition with minimal to no signs of wear/age.

Movement: Hermès automatic movement is running well with a 5-position average of +0.3 S/D | 271° AMP | .1 MS BE.
