Universal Genève was founded in 1894 and is most notably known for their Chronograph Compax watches, Genta-designed Polerouter line and impressive micro rotor movements. However, challenges such as the quartz-crisis and inadequate marketing led the brand to declare bankruptcy in the 1980s. In the late 1990s, the brand saw a brief revival after being acquired, but little progress was made. In 2019, Breitling acquired Universal Genève, sparking anticipation and interest among enthusiasts for the brand's future.
This watch dates to the Late 1960s- Early 1970s and features a striking gold linen-textured dial, signed UG crown and manual winding cal. 1-42 movement, making it the perfect dress watch.
